Every day when I come home for the past few weeks I have been checking this little avocado seed hoping that one day I will see a small creak open and something green poking through the shell, but so far nothing has happened. I have learnt that I'm not a very patience gardener.

Hey,
Just talked to a gf who's tried planting five avocado seeds this spring. She's trying two different methods:
1) keeping part of the seed submersed in water.
2) planting the seed in soil but with the "fat" end down and the "pointy" end facing up and barely sticking out of the pot.
No luck with either yet, but she's just started. How's your plant doing so far?
